EP President, Vice-Presidents and Questors

The EP President Roberta METSOLA (EPP, MT) has been elected on 16 July 2024, with 562 votes.

The 14 EP Vice-Presidents were elected on 16 July 2024.

The 5 Questors were elected on 17 July 2024.

EP President and the Vice-President compose the Bureau, which carry out various duties under the EP Rules of Procedure. The Quaestors are members of the Bureau in an advisory capacity

Parlamentary Committees

The Political Groups reach an agreement on the parliamentary standing committees and subcommittees to be issued, number, names, competencies, and number of seats. They also agree on the distribution of the seats amongst their Members.

The constitutive meetings of the European Parliament's standing committees and subcommittees took place in Brussels on 23 July 2024, following the appointments of their members in the plenary sitting last 16-19 July

During the constitutive meetings, each committee and subcommittee elected its respective bureau, made up of a Chair and Vice-Chairs, for a two-and-a-half year mandate. The newly set up committees will then start holding their regular meetings during the same week following their constitutive meeting
